Job description
Title: Plant Manager - Coiling Manufacturing
Location: Houston, TX 77041 (Northwest Houston)
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000
Founded in 1976 we are a Houston based spring manufacturing leader that employs over 100 people and specializes in precision spring and coiling solutions for industries such as aerospace, defense, oil & gas, medical devices, and industrial equipment. Operations at the facility include spring coiling, CNC machining, heat treatment, grinding, and finishing processes, delivering ISO certified components to clients who demand high performance and reliability. The Plant Manager will oversee production and maintenance operations, leading a team of approximately 65 production employees (including 7 supervisors) with support from two assistant managers, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and quality while driving continuous improvement across the plant floor.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead production and maintenance teams, supervising 65 employees and 7 supervisors to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
- Develop and execute daily production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S) to optimize workflow, machine utilization, and labor efficiency
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital equipment upgrades to minimize downtime and support growth
- Monitor and report key performance metrics (OEE, scrap, efficiency, on time delivery) to senior leadership, implementing corrective actions as needed
What You Need for This Position
- 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, ideally in spring manufacturing, metal fabrication, or precision machining
- Proven track record of managing large production teams (50+ employees) with measurable accomplishments in output, quality, and efficiency
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and use measuring tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
