Of Counsel
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced employment attorney to take on a high-impact role within a nationally respected labor and employment practice. You'll have the autonomy to manage sophisticated matters, build strong relationships with employer-side organizations, and play a key role in delivering strategic legal counsel. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employment litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution, including motion practice, hearings, negotiations, and settlements.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, position statements, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and other employment-related documents.
  • Handle discovery, depositions, investigations, witness preparation, and e-discovery matters.
  • Advise employers on workplace compliance, risk management, employee relations issues, and other labor and employment law matters.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with employers, government agencies, courts, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications / Nice to Have

Must Have
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active North Carolina law license in good standing.
  • 8+ years of employment law and/or significant civil litigation experience.
  • Experience managing litigation matters, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Experience drafting substantive legal documents and employment-related agreements.
Nice to Have
  • Management-side labor and employment law experience.
  • Experience advising employers on workplace compliance and employment-related risk.
  • Experience responding to agency charges and conducting workplace investigations.
  • Top 25% law school academic standing.
