Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical products and systems. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions while ensuring product performance, quality, and manufacturability.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong product development experience, excellent CAD skills, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and complete products utilizing 3D CAD software.
  • Generate engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Support projects throughout the entire product lifecycle from concept development through production launch.
  • Perform engineering calculations, design analyses, tolerance studies, and product evaluations.
  • Develop prototypes and support design validation and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, machining, tooling, and quality teams to optimize product designs.
  • Participate in customer meetings to understand requirements and develop engineering solutions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support supplier qualification, component sourcing, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product performance, quality, and cost reduction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of mechanical design and product development experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, fabrication, molding, assembly, and tooling.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting products in automotive, aerospace, consumer products, industrial equipment, or medical device industries.
  • Familiarity with FEA, design validation, and product testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience working with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
