Job description
Title: Manufacturing Supervisor
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000/year
Location: Victor, NY
Requirements: NYS Certified Toolmaker or Journeyman Toolmaker background
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee multiple manufacturing departments supporting the build of custom automated machinery and engineered systems. This position combines technical manufacturing expertise with people leadership, requiring someone who can effectively manage production priorities, develop skilled trades employees, and drive operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong machining or toolmaking background, experience leading shop-floor teams, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead, coach, and develop fabrication employees across multiple departments
- Manage production schedules, priorities, resources, and daily manufacturing activities
- Monitor workflow, capacity, quality, and on-time project delivery
- Coordinate internal manufacturing, outsourced processing, materials, and production planning
- Partner with Engineering and Project Management to resolve manufacturing challenges and support project execution
- Oversee apprenticeship programs, employee training, hiring, and performance management
- Maintain ERP/MRP production data, routings, and manufacturing records
- Promote a safe, organized, and continuous improvement-focused work environment
What You Need for This Position
- NYS Certified Toolmaker
- 10+ years of machining, fabrication, or manufacturing experience
- Previous leadership experience within a fabrication, toolroom, or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and manufacturing operations
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
