Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assets. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting production goals while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, facility systems, and auxiliary equipment to maximize uptime and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to quickly diagnose faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Inspect, test, calibrate, and adjust equipment to maintain operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair calls, prioritizing safety and rapid restoration of service.
  • Install, align, and commission new machines and equipment; perform modifications and upgrades as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, log work performed, and report recurring issues to support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, order components, and ensure critical spares are available to reduce downtime.
  • Follow and promote safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space protocols, and other site-specific safety practices.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support process improvements and equipment reliability projects.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to operators on daily maintenance tasks and safe operation of machinery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and basic automation systems preferred.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and precision measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, CMMS experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and certifications (e.g., lockout/tagout, OSHA) and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on work, lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures and shift schedules.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
