Machining Supervisor

Position Overview
The Machining Supervisor will lead the shop floor machining team to meet production, quality, and safety goals. This role is responsible for coordinating daily machining operations, optimizing CNC and manual processes, overseeing setup and changeovers, and mentoring operators to maintain high standards of productivity and part conformity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily machining activities to meet production schedules and quality targets.
  • Plan and assign work, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Oversee CNC operations, setup, and programming support; ensure proper fixture and tooling use.
  • Perform and supervise machine setups, changeovers, and first-article inspections.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate machine operators and technicians; promote skills development and cross-training.
  • Implement and enforce safety, quality, and regulatory procedures; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Maintain equipment uptime by coordinating preventive maintenance and working with maintenance staff to resolve breakdowns.
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements to increase throughput and reduce scrap.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production planning, and quality departments on process changes, tooling requirements, and new product introduction.
  • Manage inventory of tooling, gauges, and consumables; optimize setup times and reduce changeover waste.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role, ideally in corrugate or related converting industries.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, machine operation, and maintenance procedures 
  • Experience w/ CNC programming
  • Flexographic Printing, Rotary Die cutting, Corrugated Converting experience preferred
  • Proven experience with safety programs, quality control practices, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
  • Proficient with production tracking systems and basic computer applications (MS Office).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certifications in manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field preferred.
