Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Litigation Associate with at least three years of civil litigation experience to join our team in Pittsburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney looking to build a robust litigation practice in a supportive and collaborative environment. Candidates with experience in commercial litigation and/or transportation law are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex litigation matters.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
- Collaborate with partners and support staff to develop case strategies.
- Maintain regular client communication and provide timely updates on case status.
- Assist with business development and marketing efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
- Minimum of 3 year of relevant litigation experience (clerkships or judicial externships may be considered toward this requirement).
- Strong academic record and excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred / Ideal:
- Experience in commercial litigation (contract disputes, business torts, etc.).
- Background in transportation law (trucking, logistics, motor carrier regulations, or related matters).
- Prior courtroom or deposition experience.
