Labor and Employment Associate | Los Angeles, CA | $225,000-$245,000
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate to join its Los Angeles office.
This opportunity offers hands-on experience representing employers in a broad range of workplace disputes and advisory matters. The role provides significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced employment attorneys on sophisticated matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Defend employers in claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and reasonable accommodation issues
- Assist with representative and class action matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy memoranda
- Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs and corporate representatives
- Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and court appearances
- Provide employment law guidance and support to employer clients
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys while independently managing day-to-day case responsibilities
Requirements
- 3-5 years of labor and employment law experience
- Experience handling employment litigation matters
- Experience with wage and hour claims
- Experience with representative action matters
- Experience with class action litigation
- Strong deposition experience
- Strong motion practice experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Active California Bar admission
- Employment counseling experience is preferred
