Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Trusts & Estates practice as a Junior Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior associate or junior partner-level lawyer with a strong trusts and estates background to step into a partnership-track role, build a practice, and work closely with sophisticated clients in a collaborative, collegial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level counsel on complex estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and tax-efficient structures for high-net-worth individuals and families.
- Draft and implement sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, GRATs, ILITs, dynasty trusts, charitable trusts, and family limited partnerships/LLCs.
- Advise on trust and estate administration, probate matters, fiduciary duties, and post-mortem planning.
- Counsel clients on business succession planning, asset protection, and multi-generational wealth preservation.
- Develop and expand client relationships; actively participate in business development and practice growth efforts.
- Maintain a high standard of client service, responsiveness, and professional excellence.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida bar.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing trusts and estates law at a reputable law firm or comparable environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, as well as fiduciary income tax issues.
- Demonstrated experience handling sophisticated planning matters for high-net-worth clients.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability (or clear potential) to develop business and build client relationships.
- Collegial, team-oriented approach and strong work ethic.
