IT Administrator
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Position Overview
IT Support Specialist responsible for providing first-line technical assistance to end users, maintaining and securing company devices, and supporting data preservation and legal hold procedures. The role focuses on troubleshooting hardware and software issues, administering mobile device management (MDM), enforcing IT security best practices, and coordinating custodianship and preservation of data when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common business applications via phone, email, and ticketing system; escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT devices, peripherals, and software images according to company standards and lifecycle processes.
- Administer and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to provision, secure, and monitor company mobile devices and enforce device policies.
- Follow IT security procedures: apply patches, maintain antivirus/endpoint protections, enforce password and access policies, and report incidents to the security team.
- Assist with legal hold and e-discovery processes by identifying custodians, preserving relevant data on IT devices, and coordinating collection with legal and compliance teams.
- Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and changes in the knowledge base to improve team efficiency and ensure reproducibility.
- Perform routine backups, data preservation tasks, and verification of restored data to meet retention and compliance requirements.
- Maintain inventory of IT devices and accessories, track deployments and returns, and ensure proper sanitization and disposal of retired equipment.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support role.
- Familiarity with IT security concepts and best practices, including endpoint protection, patch management, and access controls.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE) and managing mobile device policies.
- Understanding of legal hold, custodianship, and data preservation processes or willingness to learn procedures required for e-discovery support.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices; basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and documentation skills; ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- CompTIA A+ or similar help desk certification preferred; security-related certification (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security) a plus.
