Inventory Specialist

Inventory Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to manage and optimize inventory accuracy, support logistics operations, and maintain reliable records across our supply chain systems. The Inventory Specialist will execute inventory controls, perform regular audits and reconciliations, and use ERP/SAP tools to drive continuous improvement in stock accuracy and reporting metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records across ERP/SAP systems and update stock levels promptly.
  • Plan and conduct cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations and prepare variance reports with root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with logistics, purchasing, and warehouse teams to support receiving, put-away, and picking processes.
  • Use metrics and KPIs to monitor inventory performance and identify opportunities to reduce shrinkage and carrying costs.
  • Execute inventory audits and implement corrective action plans to improve accuracy.
  • Create and distribute regular reports using ERP tools and Outlook for stakeholder communication.
  • Support forecasting and stock replenishment activities to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and record-keeping practices to ensure compliance and traceability.
  • Train and support warehouse staff on inventory best practices and system usage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on inventory or warehouse experience; experience with ERP systems and SAP strongly preferred.
  • Proven skills in inventory auditing, record keeping, and use of inventory metrics and KPIs.
  • Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for reporting and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to analyze data to drive decisions.
  • Experience coordinating with logistics and procurement teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to document processes clearly.
  • Physical ability to perform occasional warehouse duties as required and flexibility to support operational needs.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS/CPIM) are a plus.
