Heavy Civil Project Manager
Location: Lafayatte, LA
Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale civil and heavy construction projects from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in heavy civil work, strong project management skills, and experience coordinating multi-discipline teams to meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end execution of heavy civil projects, including earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, and site development.
Build and manage project budgets, monitor costs, review change orders, and ensure profitability.
Create detailed project master schedules, manage resource allocation, and track progress against key milestones.
Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee field performance and quality standards.
Enforce jobsite safety standards (OSHA compliance) and maintain quality control protocols across all operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and municipal agencies.
Qualifications
2+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction, highway/bridge, site preparation, or utility infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob).
OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) or PMP is a plus.
