Job Title: Foreman - Civil
Job Location: Columbia, SC
Hourly Rate: $26-$36
Requirements: 3+ years' experience in civil construction, with a strong background in excavation, site preparation, and utility work on commercial and industrial projects
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman - Civil to oversee and manage civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating activities on-site, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and hands-on experience in various civil construction tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the construction crew on-site.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
- Oversee grading, earthwork, excavating, and other civil construction activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and utility companies for project execution.
- Monitor project progress and report on any issues or delays to upper management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or civil engineering is preferred.
- Proven experience as a foreman in civil construction, with a focus on grading, earthwork, and utilities.
- Strong knowledge of water, wastewater, sewer, and storm systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
