Field Service Technician
Location: Onsite in Willowbrook, IL with 30% travel to customer sites across the US
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Intro: We provide end-to-end physical security solutions for mission-critical sites. You'll be working on equipment in-house and traveling to customer sites working on low voltage electrical panel assembly, wiring, and CCTV.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission and configure electrical panels, power equipment and low-voltage systems at customer locations.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and repair faults in control and power circuitry.
- Calibrate instruments, sensors and equipment to manufacturer specifications and document calibration results.
- Conduct routine maintenance, preventative service and emergency repairs to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals and service bulletins to guide installation and repair work.
- Replace defective components and assemblies, fabricate wiring harnesses and terminate cabling as required.
- Install and service CCTV, access control and other security-related low-voltage systems.
- Provide clear and professional customer support onsite and via phone, explaining findings, recommended repairs and maintenance plans.
- Complete accurate service reports, work orders and parts documentation in a timely manner.
- Follow company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures and applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Travel to customer sites within assigned territory and manage time to meet response and service windows.
Qualifications
- Vocational certificate, associate degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a field technician or similar role working with electrical panels, power equipment and low-voltage systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills including using multimeters, clamp meters and diagnostic tools to isolate faults.
- Experience with calibration of instruments and test equipment.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Hands-on experience installing and servicing CCTV, access control and other security systems is preferred.
- Proficient with maintenance, repair and replacement of electrical components and assemblies.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout and relevant codes (NEC, local regulations).
- Valid drivers license, clean driving record and ability to travel regularly within assigned territory; willingness to work occasional evenings or on-call shifts.
- Good customer service, communication and documentation skills.
- Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders and work in confined spaces and varied environmental conditions.
