Top ENR Mechanical contractor is looking for an experienced Piping Estimator. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in estimating costs and preparing bids for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects. This position requires a strong understanding of project specifications and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate project estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather information on project requirements and scope.
- Prepare and submit bids for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather relevant data for cost estimation.
- Maintain a database of costs for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure accurate pricing and budgeting.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and timelines based on estimated costs and resources needed.
- Provide support during the bidding process by addressing inquiries and clarifying project details to potential contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Proven experience as an estimator in the MEP industry, with a strong focus on piping and HVAC systems.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical drawings.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
- Familiarity with materials management and procurement processes in construction projects.
