Environmental/Land Use Attorney
Established 100+ Years Premier Firm Seeking Environmental and Land Use Attorney for Environmental and Land Use Law in Sacramento, California
 
An established firm based in Sacramento, California with over 100 years in practice is seeking an Environmental and Land Use Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement. This role focuses on environmental compliance, CEQA and NEPA review, land use entitlements, permitting, and regulatory counseling, supporting public and private sector clients on complex development, infrastructure, and natural resource matters.

Salary range: $165,000-$210,000+ contingent on experience

Qualifications
Active California Bar membership in good standing
3+ years of experience practicing environmental and land use law
Experience advising clients on CEQA, NEPA, and state and local land use regulations
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate across practice groups
Experience working with public agencies, developers, or infrastructure projects preferred
 
Responsibilities
Advise clients on environmental and land use compliance issues under state and federal law
Draft and review environmental documents, entitlement applications, and regulatory filings
Represent clients before state and local agencies and in administrative proceedings
Support land development and infrastructure projects from planning through approval
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex regulatory issues
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver strategic legal solutions
