Electrical Engineer

Position Overview
Interested in joining a Machinery Manufacturer that's been named a Top Workplace by USA Today 3 years in a row? We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support electrical engineering activities across projects, ensuring designs and installations meet owner requirements, industry codes, and project schedules. The role combines hands-on electrical design, PLC integration, testing, and creating design documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical design deliverables including single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, and schematics.
  • Produce and/or review detailed electrical design drawings using industry tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar).
  • Specify electrical equipment and components, prepare BOMs, and support procurement evaluations and vendor selection.
  • Basic setup, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs, motor drives, and other industrial communication systems. 
  • Ensure designs and field work comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE), company safety rules, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and third-party contractors to resolve interface issues and maintain project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, change logs, and operation/maintenance manuals.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying cost-effective design improvements and reliability enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems.
  • Solid understanding of power distribution and motor drives.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and applicable local regulations.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail for producing and reviewing technical documentation and vendor submittals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with owners, contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
