Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Location: Sarasota, FL & surrounding area
Salary (DOE): $110k-$140k
Requirements: 5+ Years of Construction Experience as a Superintendent on Multifamily, Senior Living and/or Student Housing Projects.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution of multifamily, senior living, student housing, and residential projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day management of construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication with owners, subcontractors, and project teams, and the flexibility to travel to multiple project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and vendors to maintain productivity and adherence to project sequencing.
- Interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and directives; identify and resolve field issues and RFIs quickly.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly site reports, progress photos, manpower tracking, and quality checklists.
- Implement and enforce safety programs and ensure compliance with all OSHA, company, and client safety policies.
- Coordinate material deliveries, storage, and on-site logistics to prevent delays and protect quality.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to update schedules, recover delays, and identify resource needs.
- Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and design team representatives to communicate progress and address concerns.
- Perform quality inspections, punch list management, and closeout activities to achieve client acceptance and final completion.
- Mentor and supervise on-site foremen and craft leads; promote a collaborative, solutions-oriented site culture.
- Manage client and owner relationships with professional communication and timely issue resolution.
- Travel between project sites as required; adapt to multiple-site oversight or short-term assignment relocations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role on multifamily, senior living, student housing, or residential projects; demonstrated track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and best practices for multifamily and residential construction.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience managing subcontractors, trade coordination, scheduling, and on-site logistics.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Builder trend, or similar) and Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) preferred.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel frequently between job sites; ability to work extended hours during critical phases.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training preferred; first aid/CPR a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage priorities, de-escalate conflicts, and make sound field decisions.
