Construction Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and deliver commercial and industrial construction projects safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will oversee project planning, coordinate subcontractors and trades, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure quality control and regulatory compliance. Strong background in commercial construction and mechanical systems (HVAC, sheet metal, hydronic piping) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for commercial and industrial construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and on-site personnel; manage procurement and material deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and contract specifications; conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve design and scope issues promptly.
  • Prepare and review project documentation including RFIs, change orders, submittals, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure workmanship meets company and client standards.
  • Manage project invoicing, cost tracking, and contractor payment processes; support claims and dispute resolution when necessary.
  • Mentor and guide junior project staff; foster a culture of continuous improvement and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.
  • Proven experience managing projects involving HVAC, sheet metal, hydronic systems, and piping.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA) and local building codes.
  • Experience with contract administration, change order management, and project documentation.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED are a plus.
  • Valid drivers license; willingness to travel to project sites as required.
