Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Lead to oversee the planning, execution and close-out of medium to large landscape construction projects. The Lead will be responsible for on-site supervision, cost and schedule control, quality assurance, safety compliance and coordination with design teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver projects on time, on budget and to specification. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, equipment and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site supervision and field execution of landscape construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, to specification, and on schedule.
• Develop, maintain and track project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6; coordinate sequencing with owners, contractors and trades.
• Manage project budgets and cost control: monitor labor, equipment and material costs, process invoices, and recommend corrective actions to meet budget targets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and construction documents; review design intent and provide constructability feedback to design teams.
• Prepare and review RFIs, change orders and submittals; manage the change order process and maintain accurate documentation.
• Coordinate procurement and supply chain activitiesorder long-lead items, track deliveries and resolve material shortages or substitutions.
• Supervise subcontractors and craft personnel, setting expectations, monitoring performance, and enforcing quality and safety standards.
• Oversee concrete formwork, rebar placement, steel erection, masonry, carpentry and related landscape structures.
• Direct excavation, grading, soil testing, drainage installation and compaction processes; verify compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
• Manage heavy equipment operation and crane activities on site, including crane signaling and safe lift coordination.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC interfacing work where applicable to landscape structures and site utilities.
• Conduct layout work using Total Station and other surveying tools; verify elevations, grades and as-built conditions.
• Implement and enforce safety programs, prepare site-specific safety plans and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Maintain project documentation including daily reports, progress photos, as-built records, punch lists and close-out packages.
• Use BIM, AutoCAD and Revit for coordination and to review model information as needed.
• Perform quality control inspections and lead corrective action to resolve defects and ensure project acceptance.
• Facilitate permitting processes and ensure compliance with local building codes and IBC requirements.
• Serve as point of contact for owner representatives, architects, engineers and inspectors on site issues and project progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive landscape or site construction experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Proven experience with cost control, estimating, budgeting and contract administration on landscape or site projects.
• Proficiency with project scheduling tools (MS Project and/or Primavera P6).
• Hands-on experience with concrete formwork, rebar, steel erection, carpentry, masonry, excavation, grading and soil testing.
• Experience supervising heavy equipment operations and crane lift coordination; certified signal person preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and experience with shop drawings, RFIs and change order management.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; experience producing or reviewing as-built documentation.
• Working knowledge of permitting processes and building codes (IBC and local), and the ability to coordinate inspections.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement site safety plans; OSHA 10 or 30 
• Excellent subcontractor management, communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage material procurement and supply chain coordination to meet project milestones.
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites; ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
