Job description

CNC Programmer

We are a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company that has been a trusted name in the industrial equipment space for decades. This organization specializes in the design and fabrication of highly engineered, custom heat transfer systems and pressure vessels used across a range of critical industries.

With fully integrated, in-house engineering and machining capabilities, we deliver end-to-end solutions-from design through fabrication-ensuring quality, precision, and responsiveness that sets them apart in the market

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Programmer to develop, optimize and document CNC programs for precision parts production. The role focuses on converting engineering drawings into efficient, accurate CNC programs using CAD/CAM tools (including Mastercam), supporting machine setup, and collaborating with machinists and quality teams to meet production, cost, and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize CNC programs from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Generate toolpaths and post-process code using Mastercam and other CAM software.
  • Translate part geometry into efficient machining strategies, selecting cutting tools, feeds, speeds and operations.
  • Test and debug programs through simulation and on-machine dry runs; revise programs based on results.
  • Support machine setup and first-article runs; work directly with CNC machinists to resolve issues during production.
  • Maintain accurate program libraries, setup sheets, tooling lists and documentation for production.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality inspectors to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface-finish requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing cycle time, minimizing tooling costs, and improving part quality.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a production environment.
  • Proven proficiency with Mastercam (toolpath creation, post-processing, and simulation).
  • Hands-on experience as a CNC machinist, including setup, fixturing, and operation of mills and lathes.
  • Strong understanding of G-code, CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas), tooling, feeds and speeds.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection data.
  • Familiarity with materials, cutting tools, and machining processes for metals and plastics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills; able to work cross-functionally with engineering and quality teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to meeting production schedules and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required by production demands.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $32-40/hr
  • Healthcare package
  • 401k
  • Flexible PTO
  • Work with industry leaders!
