CNC Precision Machinist - Multi-Axis

Job Title: CNC Precision Machinist - Multi-Axis 

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / hr  (shift differential for 2nd shift)

Location: Charlotte, NC area

Requirements: 5+yrs of CNC Machining in a High-Production/Volume Manufacturing Environment, GD&T, CNC Milling set up, Precision measuring instruments, high-efficiency machining

Position Overview
This role is for a machinist who understands CNC milling, tooling, feeds and speeds, chip management, and process optimization in a high-volume production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components while maximizing efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and optimize CNC machining centers for high-volume precision production
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and manufacturing specifications
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Make offsets, tooling adjustments, and minor program modifications as needed
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and help minimize downtime
  • Monitor tooling performance and improve machining efficiency
  • Accurately document production and quality data within ERP systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve daily manufacturing goals
  • Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  •  5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong CNC milling setup and operation experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Aerospace, medical device, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or other precision-machining background
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar controls
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality inspections
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, offsets, chip management, and tool life optimization
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and improve efficiency
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High Efficiency Milling (HEM) experience
  • Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls experience
  • Technical trade school, machining certification, or apprenticeship training
