Job description
Title: Vice President of Business Development
Location: Simi Valley, CA - Relocation Offered
Salary: $250,000 - $280,000

We serve customers across aerospace, defense, military systems, commercial space, satellite programs, aviation, robotics, autonomous systems, directed energy programs, industrial automation, automotive, and agricultural technology markets. Our client's include government organizations, defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers, and commercial space companies requiring highly reliable motion control and power technologies.
The Vice President of Business Development will lead the organizations growth strategy, expand strategic customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across aerospace, defense, space, and advanced technology markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise growth strategies that increase revenue, expand market share, and support long-term business objectives across aerospace, defense, and space sectors.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with government agencies, prime contractors, commercial aerospace companies, strategic partners, and emerging technology organizations.
- Lead capture strategies, pipeline development, proposal support activities, and business development efforts for major defense, aerospace, and space programs.
- Identify and evaluate new product opportunities, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, adjacent markets, and technology applications that leverage the company's core capabilities.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Contracts, and Executive Leadership teams to align growth initiatives with manufacturing capacity, product roadmaps, and customer requirements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field with significant leadership experience in aerospace, defense, space, advanced manufacturing, or technology industries.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience with at least 10 years driving business development, strategic growth, market expansion, capture management, or executive leadership initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies that result in significant revenue expansion, customer acquisition, and market penetration.
- Strong understanding of aerospace and defense business practices, government contracting environments, capture management, and strategic customer engagement.
- Nice to have: MBA, experience with space systems, satellites, power electronics, motion control technologies, batteries, DoD programs, NASA programs, ITAR environments, and existing relationships across aerospace and defense markets.
