Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth in the oil & gas sector with a focus on gas lift, electric submersible pumps (ESP), and reservoir monitoring solutions. The role combines strategic sales, technical understanding and customer relationship management to expand market share, win new projects and grow revenue across upstream production and artificial lift product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory and account plans to identify and win new business opportunities in oil & gas production, focusing on gas lift, ESP and reservoir monitoring services.
- Prospect, qualify and manage a pipeline of leads and opportunities; prepare and deliver compelling technical-commercial proposals and presentations to operators, service companies and EPC contractors.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract close: pricing, commercial negotiations, bids and tender responses, and contract handover to operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and field service teams to create tailored solutions, ensure technical accuracy of proposals and support successful project execution.
- Monitor market and competitor activity, identify trends and new revenue streams, and recommend product or service enhancements to capture market share.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders including asset managers, reservoir engineers, procurement and technical teams.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, client meetings and technical forums to promote products, generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and regular reporting to senior management; meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field; MSc or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years proven business development or sales experience in the oil & gas industry with direct exposure to gas lift, ESP or artificial lift solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge of gas lift systems, ESP design/operation, reservoir monitoring principles and upstream production constraints.
- Demonstrated track record of winning commercial contracts, preparing tenders, and negotiating commercial terms in complex projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage technical and commercial audiences.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, pipeline management experience and proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Willingness to travel to client sites and industry events; ability to work across cross-functional teams and in field environments.
- Fluent English; additional language skills relevant to target markets are an advantage.
