BAS Project Sales Representative
Location: Onsite in Tempe, AZ
Salary: $80-100k base with uncapped commissions, $150-200k OTE first year

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated BAS Project Sales Representative to drive new business and manage client relationships for building automation projects. The role focuses on selling building automation systems and related services, leveraging expertise in energy costs, energy efficiency, commercial HVAC, building controls, and lighting to deliver cost-saving solutions and long-term service agreements. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with strong sales and negotiation skills to develop proposals, close projects, and support ongoing client services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities for BAS projects through prospecting, referrals, and industry networking.
- Conduct client discovery and site assessments to understand building systems, energy costs, and efficiency opportunities.
- Develop and present customized proposals and ROI analyses that demonstrate energy savings and lifecycle benefits.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop accurate scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing, and prepare clear proposals, contracts, and building automation service agreements.
- Promote integrated solutions including building controls, commercial HVAC optimization, lighting controls, and energy management services.
- Maintain and grow long-term client relationships, ensuring high levels of client services and post-sale support.
- Manage the sales pipeline and forecast revenue using CRM tools; track opportunities from lead to close.
- Stay current on industry trends, codes, incentives, and financing options that affect energy efficiency and BAS projects.
- Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows, and industry events to generate leads and build market presence.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in building automation, building commissioning, energy services, or HVAC.
- Strong understanding of energy costs, energy efficiency strategies, building controls, and lighting control solutions.
- Knowledge of HVAC Controls using Tridium Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls.
- Software experience using Salesforce, Scope writing, Open Controllers, and Open Systems.
- Experience preparing ROI and energy-savings analyses and communicating value to facility managers and financial stakeholders.
- Familiarity with contract terms, proposal development, and building automation service agreements.
- Excellent client-facing, presentation, and negotiation skills with a focus on client services and relationship building.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and service teams to deliver successful projects.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
