Job description
We are a top CPA firm seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned public accounting professional with strong governmental audit experience who is looking to take on a leadership role with a respected CPA advisory firm.
What You'll Do
-Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through completion
-Oversee governmental and municipal audit engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations
-Supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors
-Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance
-Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and build strong, long-term relationships
-Identify accounting and financial reporting issues and provide recommendations to clients
-Assist clients with complex accounting, auditing, and compliance matters
-Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and team resources
-Ensure audits are performed in accordance with GAAS, GASB, and applicable governmental auditing standards
-Stay current on changes to accounting and auditing standards and communicate relevant updates to the team and clients
What We're Looking For
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-5+ years of public accounting audit experience
-Prior governmental audit experience required
-CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification strongly preferred
-Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and GASB standards
-Experience with governmental entities, municipalities, school districts, or other public-sector organizations
-Previous experience supervising and mentoring audit professionals
-Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and client-service skills
-Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
