Audit & Assurance Manager/Senior Manager (HUD, EBP & Non-Profit)

 

Step into a high-level assurance and advisory leadership role within our firm, where you will manage attest engagements, direct specialized audit niches, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients across diverse sectors.

 

What you'll do

  • Direct and oversee audit, review, and compilation engagements across specialized industries, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, and SSARS standards

  • Lead audit processes specifically tailored to Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Employee Benefit Plans (EBP), and Not-for-Profit organizations, as well as privately held businesses

  • Perform high-level reviews of workpapers, financial statements, and reports prepared by seniors and staff, delivering constructive technical feedback

  • Serve as the primary relationship leader for assigned accounts, maintaining strong client rapport and identifying proactive advisory opportunities

  • Monitor evolving accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards, communicating key updates to internal teams and clients

  • Mentor, evaluate, and train audit staff and senior associates to support their ongoing career development and technical growth

  • Drive practice growth by participating in business development activities, client proposals, and community initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal tax and advisory teams to deliver integrated service, while ensuring full adherence to firm quality control standards

 

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

  • Active CPA license

  • 5+ years of public accounting audit experience with a primary focus on assurance services

  • 5+ years of experience directing audits for HUD entities, Employee Benefit Plans, and Not-for-Profit organizations

  • Proven track record managing multiple concurrent engagements, project budgets, and client relationships in a supervisory or managerial capacity

  • Strong technical expertise in GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, and SSARS, along with proficiency in paperless audit software (e.g., CCH Engagement or CaseWare)

 

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Business Administration (MBA)

  • Demonstrated success driving business development or practice growth initiatives

  • Base salary: $130,000-$180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and title
