Audio Electrical Engineer - Consumer NPD

We're seeking a hands-on Audio Electrical Engineer who has deep experience designing and debugging consumer audio systems from concept through production. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analog/digital hardware expertise with a passion for audio performance and product development.

The ideal candidate has shipped consumer audio products, understands both the electrical and acoustic sides of system performance, and can move seamlessly between design, testing, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration. You're the person others rely on when audio quality matters.

What You'll Do

  • Design, architect, and debug complete audio signal chains including codecs, DSPs, microphones, headphone amps, and speaker amps
  • Own audio system performance across hardware, amplification, power delivery, capture, and playback
  • Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and new audio technologies
  • Partner closely with hardware, software, test, product, and industrial design teams
  • Define audio performance targets using data-driven methodologies
  • Support product validation, manufacturing test development, and production readiness
  • Troubleshoot PCBA and product-level failures in both development and production environments

What We're Looking For

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing consumer audio products
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design and debugging skills
  • Experience with SPICE simulation, Audio Precision equipment, and PCB design tools such as OrCAD or Cadence
  • Background solving hardware issues at both board and system levels
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical decisions

Preferred

  • Speaker, microphone, transducer, or acoustic testing experience
  • Bluetooth audio design and troubleshooting
  • Audio algorithm prototyping, tuning, or speech quality optimization
  • IC-level design knowledge
  • Personal passion for audio, music production, recording, speaker design, or related hobbies
