Assistant Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, proactive Assistant Project Manager to support construction project delivery across commercial and industrial projects. The role assists the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have experience with construction processes, HVAC systems, process piping, and construction management software such as Bluebeam and Procore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing construction activities from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor project schedules, track progress, identify delays or risks, and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Assist with cost tracking, budget reconciliation, and invoice review to support financial control and forecasting.
  • Use Bluebeam and Procore to manage drawings, markups, document control, and project workflows.
  • Support field operations related to HVAC and process piping installations, including reviewing scopes, verifying installation against drawings, and coordinating inspections.
  • Help enforce site safety policies and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare status reports, and present updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist with commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout activities to ensure all deliverables are completed and documented.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction or industrial project environments, preferably involving HVAC and process piping systems.
  • Familiarity with construction management software, specifically Procore and Bluebeam, with experience using them for document control, markups, and workflow management.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and piping/HVAC installation practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage subcontractor interfaces.
  • Basic proficiency in cost tracking, change management, and scheduling tools; experience with Primavera or MS Project is a plus.
  • Commitment to jobsite safety and experience supporting safety programs and inspections.
  • Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
