Industrial Automation/Controls and Instrumentation Specialist

• LOCATION - Memphis, TN area, Onsite in an industrial setting/Manufacturing facility ( May be occasional travel, NOT a remote/WFH role)

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation and Electrical Specialist to support automated equipment, control systems, and electrical infrastructure in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, system improvements, and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, drives, motors, VFDs, MCCs, and electrical control systems.
• Modify and maintain automation programs while documenting system changes.
• Support equipment startups, commissioning activities, testing, and system upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and process equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and inspection records.
• Follow all applicable electrical and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Automation, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial automation, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, control panels, and process equipment.
• Commissioning, startup, and calibration experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an industrial setting.
