Accountant
We are a privately held energy services firm specializing in oil and natural gas investments, consulting, and operational support. We offer the opportunity to contribute to projects that impact energy development, asset performance, and strategic investment decisions.

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support finance and investment activities in the oil & gas sector. The role will own financial reporting, joint-venture and revenue accounting, budgeting and investment analysis for upstream and midstream assets. The ideal candidate has industry-specific accounting experience (oil & gas), strong financial modeling skills, and a working knowledge of controller-level responsibilities and compliance (CPA preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) and Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) reporting
  • Track and analyze well production data, volumes, and performance
  • Create internal summaries on production, asset performance, and operational activity
  • Maintain accurate records of well data, reporting timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Support SWD operations, including tracking disposal volumes and reporting requirements
  • Review production data and support reconciliation of revenue against production and ownership (in coordination with accounting)
  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating new acquisition opportunities by reviewing well data, production history, and asset performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on oil & gas or energy sector accounting, including joint venture and revenue accounting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of oil & gas accounting topics (e.g., production accounting, joint interest billing, lifts, royalties) and relevant accounting standards (GAAP/ASC guidance).
  • Proven experience with financial modeling, investment analysis and supporting M&A due diligence for energy assets.
  • Experience in a Controller, senior accountant or equivalent finance role with responsibility for financial reporting, internal controls and audit coordination.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or industry-specific platforms).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to work with technical, operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment and drive process improvement projects.
Preferred:
  • Experience with SWD (Saltwater Disposal) operations or reporting
  • Familiarity with production or accounting systems
  • Exposure to asset evaluation or acquisitions
