Job description

Description

Make a meaningful difference in recovery-one patient at a time.

At The Recovery Village Salem, we believe recovery is possible for everyone and that compassionate, respectful care can change lives. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll play an essential role in supporting patients as they navigate substance use and mental health treatment in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

This is more than a nursing position. It's an opportunity to build trust, develop meaningful connections, and use your clinical expertise to support individuals throughout their recovery journey.

Our physician-led, multidisciplinary team provides evidence-based treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. As an LPN, you'll work closely with nurses, physicians, behavioral health professionals and other members of the treatment team to ensure patients receive safe, coordinated and compassionate care.

What you'll do:

  • Provide compassionate nursing care and education to patients regarding their medical and psychiatric conditions.
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and families while maintaining dignity, respect and confidentiality.
  • Administer and monitor medications and help resolve medication-related issues with pharmacies and providers.
  • Perform and document clinical assessments, vital signs, laboratory testing and other nursing procedures.
  • Support admissions, transfers and discharges, helping ensure a smooth and coordinated patient experience.
  • Monitor laboratory orders, outside consultations and medical transfers to promote continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to incorporate medical needs into individualized treatment planning.
  • Support infection-control practices, medication management, supply inventory and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts and help resolve outstanding clinical or administrative issues.
  • Provide support and direction to Behavioral Health Technicians and contribute to a positive, safe treatment environment.

The role offers a dynamic combination of hands-on nursing, patient education, behavioral health care and teamwork. You'll have the opportunity to use a broad range of clinical skills while helping patients take meaningful steps toward recovery.

About Our Organization.

This position supports one of the trusted behavioral health programs within the Advanced Recovery Systems family. Advanced Recovery Systems is the parent organization of The Recovery Village, Promises Behavioral Health, The Right Step, and The Ranch, bringing together established treatment brands with a shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction and mental health care.

While you may work primarily with a specific facility or brand, you will be part of a larger, growing organization focused on improving patient outcomes, supporting our employees and strengthening the communities we serve.

Requirements

We're looking for a compassionate, dependable nursing professional who is comfortable working in a collaborative behavioral health environment and is committed to providing safe, respectful, patient-centered care.

Required qualifications:

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Practical Nursing certification or equivalent as required by state law.
  • Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Ability to remain professional, objective and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient and facility needs.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, patient dignity, safety and quality care.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two or more years of LPN experience.
  • Previous behavioral health, addiction treatment or psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and healthcare documentation.
  • Familiarity with clinical skills such as medication administration, blood draws, EKGs, glucose testing, specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
