A retail auto parts associate handles the duties related to auto part transactions and assisting the customer find what they are looking for. These workers typically have knowledge of the items that they sell as they are able to describe a product's features, its use, or show different models for their customers. Other common duties for these types of workers involve handling sales transactions and related tasks. Most workers work Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 with evening and weekend hours possible.
Individuals seeking auto parts jobs are expected to have knowledge about different vehicles and their parts as well as be great communicators as they must be able to provide a high level of customer service for the store patrons. Some auto part associates may even install simple automotive parts for their vehicles like windshield wipers or headlight bulbs for example.
